The Scottish Government is introducing a national School Library Improvement Fund, in support and recognition of the role school libraries play in improving attainment. The creation of the Fund was announced yesterday as part of A Nation with Ambition, The Government’s Programme for Scotland 2017 – 2018.
The Scottish Library and Information Council is looking for tender proposals to review the Scottish Reading Strategy. The successful supplier will review the current reading landscape in Scotland, identify best practice and make recommendations on how to maximise impact. A key element will be aligning the Scottish Reading Strategy with Ambition & Opportunity: A Strategy for Public Libraries in Scotland 2015 – 2020.
