Libraries in Lockdown is a digital first report which looks at the response of Scottish Public Libraries to the Covid-19 pandemic. The research was carried out by Professor Peter Reid and Lyndsay Bloice of Robert Gordon University in conjunction with the Scottish Library and Information Council and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
It examines how Scotland's public libraries adapted to lockdown, the development of various digital services, and how they have continued to support community resilience and cohesion. The research also explores issues library services encountered throughout the pandemic.
Lockdown in Libraries includes analysis of online content, interviews with service managers and the lessons learned from the closure of physical services.
