Richmond Davies is the Head of Health, Wellbeing and Social Care, and Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Public Health Scotland which is part of NHS Scotland. Prior to this, Richmond was their Head of Statistical & Information Governance and DPO. 

Richmond has over 25 years of experience working for NHS Scotland in clinical roles in mental health as well as other roles in information management, data analysis, policy, and NHS senior management. Richmond has had adjunct roles in academia and holds a PhD in Library and Information Science.

He is passionate about information literacy and behaviour. His current job involves translating data into evidence for action in addressing health inequalities and the other public health challenges in Scotland. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics, a Member of the Royal Society for Public Health, and a Member of the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.
