The Scottish Library and Information Council's Wee Read campaign is an annual celebration of reading.

It is led by Scotland’s libraries in partnership with mental health charities, publishers, booksellers, authors, educators and community organisations, working together to inspire a nation to read.

The first Wee Read will take place on Wednesday October 7th this year – when we will be inviting everyone to stop, take a few minutes, and enjoy the pleasure of reading.

As part of our campaign we are encouraging more people into libraries to inspire everyone to read regularly for pleasure and explore the amazing range of services libraries offer. Whether it’s a novel, comic, magazine, newspaper, audiobook, poem, or recipe, every kind of reading counts.

Join us on October 7th for one shared moment to celebrate the joy of reading and the positive difference it can make to our wellbeing, learning and everyday lives.

Ready to make your reading pledge? Visit the Wee Read website to sign up.
