This organisational tier is designed to support the strategic development and operational excellence of large-scale public library networks at the corporate level. It provides the entity with essential access to the Public Library Improvement Fund (PLIF) and the “How Good is Our Public Library Service” (HGIOPL) framework, enabling the service to benchmark performance and secure vital funding for community-centred projects. As an institutional member, the organisation gains priority access to sector-wide events, ensuring its staff remains at the forefront of public library innovation and statutory standards.
This membership is for Local Authority library services and public-private library ventures, such as Glasgow Life. It is intended for the organisation as a whole, supporting various roles within the entity including Heads of Service overseeing multiple branches, as well as individual Library Managers, Project Managers, and Librarians dedicated to the delivery of local authority library strategies.
