Mobile Libraries Day is an annual celebration of mobile library services in Scotland and the valuable contribution they make to the communities they serve.
This year Mobile Libraries Day 2025 will take place on Wednesday 19th November as part of Book Week Scotland. The awareness day is organised by the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) and supported by the Scottish Government.
You can find out more about mobile library services in Scotland by reading the Libraries on the Move report commissioned by SLIC in 2018 and the more recent Mobile Libraries in Scotland report published in 2024. Mobile library services also contribute significantly to the aims of Forward: Scotland’s Public Library Strategy and Vibrant Libraries, Thriving Schools, The National Strategy for School Libraries in Scotland.
