The latest version of the SLIC Learning and Sharing Platform has been launched – creating a huge database of resources for librarians across Scotland.
Both public library staff and school librarians in Scotland can access the user interface which hosts webinars, learning material and downloadable PDFs to support staff development.

Sharing Best Practise
New content recently added to the online platform also includes material from Dyslexia Scotland, Code Club and Empathy Lab as well as advice for colleagues around using Artificial Intelligence.
The platform is also the ideal way for local authorities to share their own learning materials and examples of best practise.
Jim Gibb, SLIC’s Digital Training Development Manager explained: “The SLIC Learning and Sharing Platform gives both public library staff and school librarians a way to learn new skills at their own pace. They can choose what they want to learn at a time that suits them best.
“For local authorities, it provides the perfect opportunity to share examples of best practise which can then be emulated by other authorities throughout Scotland. By sharing learning materials everyone based in public and school libraries can benefit.”
