SLIC is offering bursaries to the CILIPS Annual Conference 2024: Information for All which will takes place in person this year on Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th June 2024 at the Dundee Apex Hotel. The two-day event is the largest conference for library and information professionals in Scotland.
Keynote speakers include James LaRue, director of the Garfield County (Colorado) Public Library District; Dr Althea Greenan, Special Collections and Archives at Goldsmiths, University of London; Sara Sheridan, writer and activist, and Sue Williamson MBE, the current CILIP president. There will also be sessions on managing safe and inclusive public library services, building AI ready collections, and school library podcasting.
If you are a CILIP member working in a Scottish public, school library or further education library you can apply to attend through the SLIC CILIPS Bursary Scheme.
To apply for a bursary, you must meet the following criteria:
- Work for a public library service in Scotland; OR work for a school library service; OR work for Further/Higher/Specialist Education Library and/or Learning Centre.
- Be a current member of CILIP – you should submit your membership number on your application.
- Complete the online form and include a summary of no more than 500 words outlining why you would like to attend the conference and what learning you anticipate taking back to your workplace.
- Check with your line manager that you can attend the conference for the full two days.
Please note: the bursary will cover the full conference delegate two-day package and delegates are expected to be present for the full conference. The bursary is non-transferable.
