This storytelling resource pack was developed from the School Library Improvement Fund project Let Me Tell You A Story. The project provided a platform for secondary pupils to learn how to write short stories for children. It was managed by Ardrossan Academy in North Ayrshire in partnership with Winton Primary School and Ardrossan Public Library.

The toolkit was created by an award-winning children’s author and is designed to bring pupils together using imaginative stories. The toolkit also includes examples of narrative voices, atmosphere and showing versus telling. Within the pack you will find information on:

The Creating Storytelling Resource Pack can be used by schools throughout Scotland in multiple ways. It can be used to encourage inclusion, collaboration between primary and secondary schools, support the mental health of pupils and increase confidence in writing and presenting skills.
