The Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) is the independent advisory body to the Scottish Government for library and information matters. Its membership includes all 32 local authorities, 15 Universities and 14 Further Education Colleges as well as the NHS, special libraries and the National Library of Scotland. SLIC works in partnership with a number of key agencies in Scotland.
SLIC aims to expand the current digital training provision available for all public library staff nationwide. It is a crucial programme of work which has the potential to enable libraries to support universal digital participation and ensure that library users across Scotland have a high standard of support for developing digital skills through their library.
SLIC is seeking invitations to tender for the development of a Scotland-wide Learning Management System. The platform would be accessible to library staff across all 32 local authorities and would allow access to a range of learning modules with a focus on digital skills.
