Further Education, Higher Education and Specialist Libraries in Scotland can now apply to SLIC’s Innovation and Development Fund (IDF). A total of £30,000 is available for projects and activities which encourage creative service delivery and development in libraries throughout Scotland.

Eligible libraries need to be members of the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) and can apply for funding through either an individual or collaborative application.

Previously successful applications have included the creation of new collections, developing online book groups, establishing creative workshops and researching new digital resources.

Applying to the Fund

A full range of initiatives will be considered for funding including research, impact analysis, service development and the creation of new services.

With an individual application, libraries can apply without any collaboration with other partners or external organisations. SLIC accepts up to two individual applications per eligible library service to give each service an equal opportunity when applying.

A collaborative application is where an application is made by either two or more eligible SLIC members and/or external partners. SLIC accepts an unlimited number of collaborative applications.

To apply to the Innovation and Development Fund please fill in our online IDF Application Form. You will need to download and read the Application Guidelines before submitting your application.
