The Scottish Library and Information Council has retained Cyber Essentials accreditation for 2022, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to cyber security.
The Government backed scheme helps to guard against the most common cyber attacks by ensuring Cyber Essentials technical controls are in place. It addresses the most common internet-based threats to security – especially attacks that use widely available tools and demand little skill.
By retaining the Cyber Essentials accreditation SLIC has shown we have a set of baseline technical controls in place to guard against threats such as hacking, phishing and password guessing. Measures include firewalls and high levels of security settings on devices and software, as well as password-protected devices and accounts.
