SLIC is now accepting bursary applications to attend this year’s CILIPS 2020 Annual Conference. The two-day event, which this year focuses on the theme of ‘Disruptors & Innovators’, takes place on the 1st and 2nd of June at the Apex Hotel in Dundee.
The event is the largest conference for library and information professionals in Scotland and will host keynote speeches, workshops and talks to share knowledge, network and engage in professional development.
SLIC has a number of bursaries available to attend the Conference, which this year includes guest speakers such as Marie Østergaard, Library Director of Aarhus Public Libraries and Dokk1 in Denmark and Jackie Kay – poet, novelist and Scots Makar. The bursary includes the full conference delegate package as well as the Conference Dinner and overnight accommodation. However, it does not cover travel to and from the conference venue.
To apply for a SLIC bursary to attend the CILIPS 2020 Annual Conference, you must meet the following criteria:
- Work for a public library service in Scotland
- OR work for a school library service
- Be a current member of CILIP – you should submit your membership number on your application
- Submit a résumé of no more than 500 words outlining why you would like to attend the conference and what learning you anticipate taking back to your workplace
Ready to apply? Fill in the online bursary form before Monday March 9th 2020. You can also find out more about the CILIPS 2020 Conference – including a list of key speakers and breakout sessions – by visiting the CILIPS website.
