Applications for the SLIC Awards 2023 are now officially open, with every member of the Scottish Library and Information Council able to apply.

The annual Awards celebrate the talent, innovation, and achievement of library services and teams throughout Scotland. Library and information services can apply to two different categories – the SLIC Library Service Excellence Award and the SLIC Project Excellence Award.

Both Awards applaud the outstanding contribution libraries and their teams make to support their own members. Open to all SLIC members, it is an opportunity for organisations to showcase staff-driven initiatives which have greatly enhanced user experience.

Entries to each Award must highlight the work of a library service or project which has achieved successful service innovation between June 2022 and June 2023. An independent panel of judges will choose the winners, which will be announced at the SLIC Showcase and AGM on Friday November 3rd. The winners will receive both a trophy and a cash prize.

Outstanding Services
The SLIC Awards are an opportunity for library services and teams to shine a light on service initiatives that have made real difference to their members during the last year.
Entries are now being accepted online for the Awards with submissions closing at 12 noon on Monday September 4th. Only one entry per SLIC member will be accepted for each SLIC Award category and the judges’ decision is final. All entries must also have the approval of the Director or Head of Library Service. The SLIC Award shortlist will be announced week beginning October 16th 2023.
