The Scottish Library and Information Council is delighted to announce an annual Award for the library sector in Scotland. The SLIC Award will celebrate the talent, innovation, and achievement of library teams throughout Scotland.
The SLIC Award commends the outstanding contribution library teams make to support their members. Open to all SLIC members it is an opportunity for organisations to showcase staff-driven initiatives which have greatly enhanced user experience.
Entries must highlight the work of a library team which has achieved successful service innovation between January 2020 and June 2021. An independent panel of judges will choose the winning team. The winner will be announced at the SLIC Showcase and AGM on Friday November 5th. The winner will receive both a trophy and cash award of £5000.
SLIC CEO Pamela Tulloch said: “The last 18 months has been a time like no other and library teams throughout Scotland have responded to the pandemic in outstanding ways. The SLIC Award is an opportunity for library teams to shine a light on service initiatives that have made real difference to their members during this time.”
Entries are now being accepted online for the Award with submissions closing at 12 noon on Monday September 6th. Only two entries per SLIC member will be accepted and the judges decision is final. All entries must also have the approval of the Director or Head of Library Service. The SLIC Award shortlist will be announced on Monday October 11th 2021.
