Planning a pioneering and creative library project? Then why not apply to our annual Innovation and Development Fund.

Every year, the Scottish Library and Information Council supports ground-breaking projects through the fund. It is ideal for projects which encourage creative service delivery and development, including the creation of new resources, research and staff training.

We are now actively seeking applications from our member libraries throughout Scotland, who can choose to either apply online or download an IDF application form.

Innovative Projects

The Innovation and Development Fund is aimed at members of SLIC who do not benefit from our Public Library Improvement Fund. Previous IDF Awards have included the creation of pop-up maker spaces, new library collections and digital literacy programmes.

The fund has been supporting innovative library projects throughout Scotland since 2005, and supports SLIC's four strategic objectives: Advocacy, Standards, Innovation and Partnerships.

If you are thinking about applying for our IDF fund, reading through our IDF Funding Guidelines and Application Notes will help guide you through the application process.

You can find out more about the Innovation and Development Fund and the application process by visiting our IDF page. The closing date for this year’s fund is 5pm on Friday, 2nd February 2018.
