Applications for the Public Library Improvement Fund 2017/18 are now open. You can apply for funding by filling in our PLIF 2017 Application Form

Please be sure to read over our PLIF Guidance beforehand. It provides a step-by-step guide – outlining the key priorities and eligibility criteria. Once completed, you can send your bid to: applications@scottishlibraries.org

The closing date for applications is Thursday 18th May 2017.

Friday 29th June 2017 Acceptance letters to be returned to SLIC
From 3rd July 2017 70% of funds transferred to authorities
Friday 1st December 2017 Interim Reports due
Week beginning 11th December 2017 30% of funds transferred
 Friday 1st June 2018  Final Report and financial records to SLIC

Every Child a Library Member’ Pilot

To coincide with National Libraries Day (Saturday 7 February 2015), the Scottish Library & Information Council (SLIC) announced details of a new library pilot scheme to make every child in Scotland a library member.

All 32 local authorities across Scotland have now signed up to support the ‘Every child a library member’ project, which is funded by the Public Library Improvement Fund.
