Since the launch of Ambition and Opportunity – Scotland’s first National Public Library Strategy – there has been a heightened interest in public libraries by both local and national politicians.

SLIC has produced an Advocacy Toolkit to be used by the Heads of Public Library Services.

The toolkit supports the work being done by library services acorss the country to deliver on the national startegy. It provides additional information and tools to promote libraries and library services among elected members and MSPs. The toolkit is a way of making sure local influencers and decision makers are aware of all the great things taking place in local libraries and the impact of services within communities so they can make informed decisions.

SLIC has produced a video, which Heads of Public Library Services may find useful, showcasing just some of the great services Scottish public libraries provide.
