Peter's Biography

Peter is the Professor of Librarianship at Robert Gordon University and a leading authority of library management. He is a past Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals in Scotland (CILIPS).

Peter was the Head of Information Management at Robert Gordon University between 2004 and 2016. An experienced academic manager, he has regularly contributed to many university-wide projects such as virtual learning, admissions policies and job evaluation. 

In addition, he is an elected member of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, Patron of the Pluscarden Abbey Appeal and a professional genealogist.

Recently Peter conducted an evaluation of the Every Child A Library Member Research Project on behalf of SLIC, having previously developed the ‘How Good is our Public Library Service’ quality framework.
